Welcome to the USS Arctic!
...if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.
Space...vast, cold, endless. Inhospitable to most life. A test of the mettle and determination of those who dare it.
The Terran arctic is a a frozen, inhospitable tundra designed to test the mettle of anyone that dares it.
The Arctic is the master class for those who dare the challenge of staring down the abyss. But remember to take care that in preparing to fight monsters you do not become a monster yourself.

Its official for the November numbers we have earned the Gold unit of merit.
I'm impressed at this, I'm happy with the idea what a group can do when there is a mutual goal. This is my second Gold award, and the first in four years, but this one is worth it.
Anyone wanna go for another?

Hello Crew of the Arctic,
Just got word on the November UoM awards.
As you may remember, we won a bronze UoM for our task group for December due to all the great work you guys have been doing.
I'm happy to announce that for November, our little simm, in one of it's darkest times, received the SILVER UoM!!
That's a big deal because that's the top unit for the Task Force and comes from all the simms in the task force.
It's also the way to get nominated for the Gold UoM award. The Gold is for THE simm of the month. There is only ONE Gold per month. Also, to get Gold UoM means you're in competition for Simm of the Year.
Why do I ramble about all this?
Because I'm ECSTATIC to announce that the USS Arctic is the GOLD UNIT OF MERIT for November! GOLD!!! GOLD!!!
That's top of the podium! That's like...well...like the best!
And to have received that during a time when the CO had abandoned the simm and left it up to the crew to just carry on actually means more to me because it shows what determination and perseverance as a crew can get us!
Congratulations to all of you because that award comes only because of what all of you have done!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to spend the rest of the day singing "Everything is Awesome!"

Just to let everyone know:
I have officially 'graduated' from the CO academy today and that then makes my command aboard the Arctic 'official'.
Fortunately, and because of the players that have stuck it out since the abandonment of the previous CO, we are ready to go for service and won't have to do another 'shakedown' cruise.
So let's continue with this mission, get it finished up and have some time off!
Also, if you know anybody who may be a good fit for our open positions, please feel free to recruit them (within Fleet guidelines, of course) for our little simm.
Once again, thanks to all of you for your continued patience and dedication during this time.

I have discovered today that the Arctic received the Bronze Unit of Merit award for the month of December!
Which means we were chosen by our TGCO as an exemplary simm!
Congratulations to all of you for your hard work and dedication which is what allowed us to be given this honor.
I'll be doing some website updates over the next week and will be sure to proudly display this honor on our main page and - I believe - I'll be able to award a ribbon to each of you.
Again, congratulations and thank you for what you do.

I need to point out that as I've taken over the simm, I've been very lax in enforcing posting limits.
OF guidelines say at least two posts per month - I have posting guidelines that are not yet posted. But most have not lived up to the two posts per month minimum.
Starting soon posting limits will be enforced and the posting guidelines for this simm in particular will be posted.
Those who are unable to make posting limits for any reason need to contact me with the reason why and/or requests for LOA.

After leaving the meeting aboard the starbase with Jarred Wallace, Ian made his way through the ship and to the science station. He had the PADD with the information on it and he wanted another opinion on the matter - one that was more objective and less conspiracy theorist.
"Nurse Joyhan, sickbay is yours I need to meet with Ensign Blackwell and he is probably in engineering."
The human nurse looked at the bajoran doctor with an amused gaze.
"You know you could just have the computer locate him? Common sense," he said jokingly with a slight arrogant tone.…
